So, lucky for you (and me), I have some time to write a post while the girls are having their bottles and watching Barney.
In kind of an addendum to my last post, about having teeny tiny girls who won't eat, I thought I'd mention how hard it is to buy clothes for tall skinny kids. I was looking at some of the tags on their new clothes. Cherokee brand (Target) size 24 months is for kids between 33-35.5 inches, weighing 26.5 to 28 lbs. Old Navy brand, size 2T, is for kids 33-36 inches, 30-33 lbs!!! Now that's why I love an adjustable waist!
The majority of their clothes are hand-me-downs from my sister Missy. My niece Claire is a year older than my girls, and is also a teeny tiny little thing. She was full term and is very healthy, but only weighs 26 pounds at 3 1/2. It works out great for us, cause as she is growing out of her clothes, we are growing into them! And my sister has great taste, so we get some REALLY cute clothes.
There is potentially a slight hitch in the hand-me-down situation that really bums me out. Missy just called me last week to ask if I could bring the 12 months clothes to my mom's. Her youngest daughter Kate is outgrowing the 6-9 month clothes! Uh oh. She's going to catch us! I guess that's what happens when your kid totally likes to eat. They go and grow.
I'm guessing by fall Kate will be in the same size as H and E, so we won't be able to get the hand-me-downs anymore. Also, my sister-in-law Sabrina is expecting a girl at the end of May. If this little one is anything like her big brother, she'll pass everyone up, including CLAIRE in a matter of months!
I promise not to complain TOO much, because I really LOVE shopping and buying clothes for my girls. I get to buy not just one cute girlie outfit, but two! It can be expensive though. That's why I buy all of their clothes at Old Navy, Children's Place, and Target. Preferably on clearance. Nothing makes me happier than a good deal on cute baby clothes (or should I say KID clothes?).
I went to the Kensington Valley outlet mall last week with my sister Kim. Children's Place was having a "50% off already reduced prices" sale. I was so excited. I stocked up on some adorable clothes for next winter at incredible prices. I got the girls 4 skirts, 6 tops, 4 pairs of pants, 2 denim jackets, 2 pairs of tights, and 4 pairs of PJ's for $100.00!!! Now that's a deal I just couldn't pass up!

Great Pics I love the one of H in the sink. I need a really cute one of her in her glasses, and one of E in her pony. Love ya
Absolutely adorable!!! My 3-year-old boy (full-term) eats like crazy, more than I do sometimes, and still only weighs 27lbs! He is 37", so everything is 3T and I couldn't be more thankful for adjustable waist pants!!!
Cute pics! I also love the clearance racks at Target in the baby/kids section! Amy
Amen about how hard it is to buy clothes! My daughter is now 33" and 21 pounds (all genetic, I think). It is impossible to find things that fit her waist and are long enough. Hopefully when she is 30, she'll love this "problem"!
I know what you mean about the cost of clothes. $100 for all that WOW! It is so expensive buying for two. I try to buy off the sales racks as well, but I can never find the same size of the same outfit. I love dressing my girls the same. They are a year and a half and are still wearing 12 months. They are very tiny as well.
Oh my YES, buying pants has been *almost* a CHORE! UGH! I pretty much stick to leggings if I can. L & S are over 4 now and about 39" tall, but L is only 27 lbs. and S, 29 lbs. We are wearing 3T's but most don't fit in the waist.
Gymboree is the WORST! I remember checking their sizing once and based on the girls size at the time, they would've been in 3T for length, 18-24m for weight and 3-6m for waist size! Can you imagine? None of Gymboree's stuff has ever fit them right. I gave up a long time ago. Oshkosh has seemed to be the closest to their height/weight.
Cute pics of your beauties!
I love Children's Place for Darsie, too! I am always folding waists down and sleeves up. So frustrating!
I LOVE a good clearance! Looks like the girls are doing well...I'm so glad.

p.s. congrats to Nick and Sabrina on havin' a girl soon. :)
You can get really cute clothes at Gymboree, I never buy anything there unless it is 60% off. I just check pretty frequently, and I always find good deals for Cooper. Happy shopping!
We shop the same way, you and me. I think 90% of S's wardrobe came from the clearance racks at either Target or CP Outlet.
For the summer, you can use the baby size shorts and skorts. When my daughter was 3yrs she wore the 6-12 months shorts in the summer. Also, the babydoll style dresses are awesome. They can wear them in the winter with tights and then with shorts in spring and summer and the next fall and winter with leggings as a shirt. My daughter stayed skinny and just grew taller so this worked well and she wore them for more than a year. Old Navy does have the skinniest style.
hi i no whza a you ive got a daughter called debbie whos 18months old and my sister daughter sasha is the exacley the same age anhd last time we went shopping together its came 2 $500 with both of our money
We can relate. It seems only in the last couple of months our 3 1/2 year-old no longer needs her pants pinned to hold them up. Same thing you describe, if they were long enough the waist was too big. If the waist was a fit, they were too short.
Oh, and she has always been a great eater. She'll eat just about anything, she just is a busy kid that burns it all off!
