I loooove to sleep!
My kids slept from 10pm to 10am the past two days. I went to bed at 11:30 and got up at 9:00, took a shower, made coffee, and am writing a blog post before they get out of bed! I am so NOT a morning person. Back in my past life I used to go to bed at midnight all summer, and tried to FORCE myself out of bed at ten. I really love to sleep. I'm SO glad that my kids like to sleep too. The world is a better place after a good night's rest.
This is a big reason why I am not sure I can have any more kids. The not sleeping thing is very very scary for me. I remember those days and nights where I thought I might DIE (or kill someone) from not sleeping. I'm not sure I could do it again. And sleeping through the night is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of things that scare me about another pregnancy/baby. But I shouldn't say "can't." You would be amazed at the things you can do when you have to!

Are you pregnant?!
Or at least, considering it?!
Whooo!
Hooray for sleep! The sleep deprivation IS the hardest part. I tell people that and they don't believe me. But it so is. It's the thing that puts you over the edge at the end of the day.
I am so glad you got some sleep!
I am glad your girlies have become good sleepers. Yay for team Holland and Eden!!
Yeah, I wondered why my "I want another baby" drive kicked in just as I got my then-2 year old to sleep through the night. It's like my brain wanted to punish my body. Again!
I love sleep. Before I had children, even as a working adult with a mortgage and retirement account, I could sleep until noon on weekends and would. But when my first came alone, he loved going to bed late and sleeping late, since he was waking up every couple of hours to nurse. It was the perfect schedule for me. My newest baby is such a morning bird and it's killing me. And, still, that baby craving is hitting me again.
Try to imagine having children on different schedules. It's torture. Someone's always up late and someone's always waking me up early in the morning and the baby wakes up every couple of hours to eat. Why do we do this to ourselves? It's a mystery!
No no no no...I am NOT pregnant. Considering it, in the distant future, maybe...
Hi,
Your girls are beautiful, and I love the Elmo jamma's. Do you mind if I ask where you got them?
Hi Billie!
I am with you on the loving to sleep! But if I could have kids that were as beautiful and amazing as yours, sleep deprivation would be worth it!!
Love,
Dawn
I don't cope with the lack of sleep very well. That's why I have a mean coffee addiction (and because I have four kids, I also have a nice wine addiction too). And Master C was still running around the house at 11.15pm the other night - so we do have major sleep issues here. Having said that - Sumo is the best sleeper in the whole house. Took him 8 weeks to get there but he goes to sleep at 7.30pm and wakes up at 7.30am.
Another pregnancy is terrifying Billie. Lucky, I got my tubes tied cause I am clucky (or is that crazy) enough to have gone back and done it again.

The first thing my sister said when I told her I was pregnant with #2 was, "You are never going to sleep again." And she was right!...
Anon,
The Elmo jammies are from Meijer, our local grocery/sell everything store. I couldn' pass them up!
Jacqui,
Coffee and wine...two of my favorite things in life...right after Holland and Eden!
I agree with you, Jacqui and Billie, love love love the sleep...and the coffee and the wine :) It seems however, that no matter what time my kids go to bed they are always up by 7:00...yuck...thus, coffee and more coffee.
We have been finding our nice sleep from 8-8 non working and now again his sleeping through the night is non exsistent. So I am up at 10:30 as my only time alone because I sleep with a snoring hubby and a kicking bubba. THATS right. he ends up with me at about 4 when I am WILLING him to PLEASE still sleep since its still Night. I try to tell him its still night time at like 8 am since I LOVE TO SLEEP!!! I am the same way about the babies to. Wnat one but only one that comes FT, Sleeping through the night and never cries. Not to mention healthy as a horse!
And if tonight my soul may find her peace
in sleep, and sink in good oblivion,
and in the morning wake like a new-opened flower
then I have been dipped again in God, and new-created.

I LOVE SLEEP!!!
Eden looks so grown-up in the pic with the polka-dot headband!

You're the first person I've met other than myself who lists the single biggest con for having more children as sleep interruption. I CANNOT do that again. Seriously. My kids sleep 12 hours nightly, too, but it's from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am. Just as well, because I'm a morning person--into bed by 8 or 9, up at 6.
