First Day of Preschool!
To many, it was probably the most ordinary first day of preschool ever. They wore their new dresses, posed for pictures in front of the house and outside of the school, proudly rolled their new backpacks along behind them, found their name tags and put them on with a smile, and rushed off to find a toy to play with.
Eden cried a little bit when I left the room to get a few things from the car. When I returned less than 5 minutes later, she was engaged in an activity and didn't even notice I had returned. There were a few more tears when I said my final good-bye, but I could tell that she would be fine. She was already on to something else before I made it out the door.
Holland barely even looked up when I said good-bye to her. They had trains. And blocks that you could use to build a track.
While it may have seemed like an ordinary day to so many people...to me, it was anything but ordinary.

What a great day! They look so grown up!!
Hooray, I'm so glad it went well! S is pretty much like Holland - I have to remind her to say goodbye to me when I leave.
Were they at least happy to see you when you picked them up?
This must made my heart sing. They are doing SO well.
Billie, where has the time gone. They have just gotten so big. I really can't believe they are starting school already. Before you know it our kids are all going to be grown up!
Wow. It seems like they were happy...what about you? Dropping my kids off at preschool for the first time was SO hard.
I remember you posting a while back about choices for preschool...which kind are they in? Are they in the same class? It looks like a great place- my kids never made anything that nice on the first day!
What a wonderful milestone! Sounds like they both did great - and so did you, with all the preparations and then letting them go today.
Congratulations to all of you!
What great pics. How sweet. I can't imagine how you held it together? What a huge day!

What an achievement for all of you! You and John have already done so much and given so much love to these two precious girls.....I can't wait to keep reading and see what new amazing miracles these girls accompish next! What a beautiful milestone!
What an amazing day! I cant believe they are big enough to go to school. You should be so incredibly proud to be thier Mommy.
I pray for them daily and look forward to hearing how school is going and how much progress they make.
Keep up the good work Girls.

There is nothing ordinary about your child's first day at school!!! I can't believe you took photos, I was so distressed I could barely remember to put clothes on straight when Julia went last week!! But yours is for sure a very big milestone. From what you describe your daughters are ready for school. Wish you all the best!
Anna (another of your blog readers)
so glad to hear it went well! love the pics :)
Okay, why am I crying? Damn, those girls are sooooo cute. Gosh Bills, all of our babies starting preschool. It really does seem like just yesterday that we were smuggling you into Cedar Point in a pair of Daisy Dukes. Love ya little lady. Jess
Wow congrats. And what a great first day of preschool - no major meltdowns and beautiful artwork!
They are adorable.

YEAH the first day of preschool! They are going to LOVE it!
Those little social butterflies will do just fine in school, and I'm sure once the idea sinks in, Mommy will find a way to spend some well deserved 'me' time. Go get your toenails done! :)
I love ya!
Jules
Yey, yey for the first day! So happy everything went well. I knew they would LOVE it :-) xxoo

Awww, Niecey skipped preschool and started kindergarten this year and it choked me up from 350 miles away. It is tough watching them grow up, they do it so fast! Congrats on a successful first day for those two adorable munchkins =)
Oh, they look SO big. And pretty. Congratulations (to you) for making it through the day.
What a beautiful post, and the girls look great. I'm so sorry that Holland is feeling badly, though, and I am hoping that things got better this weekend. And here's to hoping that she got this sickness thing out of her system and spends the rest of 2008, at least, hale and hearty.
Beatyful post!!! You are SO lucky, but you already know that :)
OMG, I am in tears!!! How wonderful that they are now in preschool!!!!!
I'm so happy for your family Billy. Your daughters are so precious and amazing. Also I'm glad that I am not the only one who is in tears after reading your post.
